Put away non homogeneous HU in warehouse

Hello EWM experts,

My client has requirement for inbound process that a non homogeneous HU (HU containing multiple products) need to be put away at a specified storage bin without doing deconsolidation.

All the products in the non homogenous HU have same put away indicators.

How to make this happen?

Is there any enhancement needed? If yes, what would be the logic?

Or can standard SAP configuration support this requirement?

Regards,

Chaitanya

If it is a normal storage type it is allowed

On your storage type config under Putaway control (mixed storage) make sure you have selected mixed storage without limitations and (mixed storage in HU) select mixed storage without limitations in HU.

If your storage type behaviour is bulk storage you can only have one product per lane.

Thank you Cranston for your input.

Typically, if the HU is homogenous (containing one product in the HU), system would check putaway control indicator and storage section indicator for the given product to identify destination storage type/section/bin.

Since there are multiple products in the HU, I believe all products must have same indicators so that logic is able to identify unique destination storage type/section/bin.

Does system runs same destination bin search logic in this case (non homogenous HU) as homogenous HU?

Will RF show all products in the non homogenous HU to putaway?

Is there any enhancement needed?

as far as I remember, EWM takes first item to check the strategy. In standard RF you would get all the products to scan, if you have product WTs (at least it was like this before). If you have one HU task, system only asks to confirm this task. Best way is to check it.
