Production Scheduling with SAP

Good Morning,

I am in the food industry, we have been trying to find a solution to building our production schedule within SAP instead of doing spreadsheets.

Our Current process: We use MD04 to see demand on customer orders and going into the planned orders and manually setting dates based off the forecast given to us. We then download all orders for that week and use excel to bring a schedule together and get out to the shop floor.

We have the Production Scheduling Module, but we can't seem to get it to work properly we have our routings setup accurately but its not pulling properly in the board. Majority of our jobs are completed within the same day with the exception of a few SKUs.

I was wondering if anyone else within the Food Industry had SAP and what they use and thoughts on it or if anyone had suggestions on how we can get away from doing with Spreadsheets

Good morning! So we are trying to see what works for others, see what they are doing and maybe try to implement something similar. We have the Production Schedule planning board app but our system is calculating our run times improperly so it is useless. We talked to our consultant group and they say everything is fine but most of our products are same day build/finish we know what we can run each day, our Recipes are also setup properly from our point of view. So we are currently at a crossover at the moment trying to figure out a way to get away from having to use Excel to build schedules and looking for ideas -- I am new to this forum so I am not sure how to Follow you, i dont see anything to do that in the profile when I click on yours
