Hi Guru’s!
I have a scenario where I have two plants 1000 and 2000 both are manufacturing Plants. I have a material for example ABC which can be produce on both plants. Now the scenario is I have planned 5000 quantity in Plant 1000 but there is not enough capacity available on prescribed dates but in plant 2000 enough capacity is available so now planner want to produce that 5000 quantity in plant 2000. Is it possible in PPDS and what are the necessary settings which I have to maintained? So that when ever there is not enough capacity available in one plant we can produce on other manufacturing plant.
Hi Rashid,
In case of S4HANA 2020 release onwards we have PPO (PP solver), we can model this kind of scenario through PPO. Where in you have provided a priority of first planning in Plant 1000 and then once your capacity is filled up it will move the rest of the production into Plant 2000. You would need to setup a cost model for the PPO to adhere to your requirement. Once done it will definitely address this scenario.
Please have a look at this blog for more information on PPO Production Planning Optimizer in S/4 HANA PPDS 2020 and its limitations | SAP Blogs
