Product Master Setup in Decentralized S/4 HANA via MATMAS Idoc

We are using reduced MATMAS Idocs from SAP ECC to SAP Decentralized EWM on S/4HANA to distribute materials. The Idocs are successfully received in EWM, materials are available in MM03 in EWM and am also able to distribute deliveries for that material, pick and ship that material in EWM.

However traditional EWM Product Master transactions like /scwm/mat1 and /sapapo/mat1 are not getting created automatically from the Idoc. Is there a setting missing that would allow for creation of the EWM Product Master transactions automatically?

Hi,

"However traditional EWM Product Master transactions like /scwm/mat1 and /sapapo/mat1 are not getting created automatically from the Idoc."

There should be a product, so you should find something in /SAPAPO/MAT1. And AFAIK no setting should be necessary for that. Are you maybe looking for a location product (in the entry screen this is automatically selected)? That won't exist.

A warehouse product (/SCWM/MAT1) is NOT automatically created. Why should it? And with which data?

All the above is no official SAP statement.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Thanks for the quick response, you are right it creates /sapapo/mat1 global data but not location.

i was just comparing it to the old CIF model. In the distribution model we had the option to create location data in CFM1 and a default view for /scwm/mat1 was created as well. I guess you are saying I’m not missing anything, these are manual steps in the IDOC distribution model.

Given the high volume of materials, would you know what SAP recommends for creating the /SAPAPO/MAT1 location data and create the /SCWM/MAT1? Is it usually via a LSMW? Or is there another tool/transaction to do it in bulk?
