Hello All,
We have a requirement for maintaining the forecasts for new product introduction. So, was reviewing the option of using Product Life Cycle.
Here I see the attribute PRDID is associated with material in my case. However the requirement is to have all changes to be managed at Case UPC level. As we know, a Case UPC always has multiple materials associated with it.
So,
a. How can I let the system associate Product to Case UPC instead of material?
b. Is there any impact I need to consider while doing the change?
Thanks,

Hi Sameer,
I am not sure about product hierarchy being maintained in your scenario. However, by default system picks Product ID as reference. Go to Settings for Product Lifecycle fiori app and maintain planning area settings with required attributes (for e.g. here I have maintained Brand ID instead of Product ID)

While creating assignments now in Manage Product Lifecyle, you should see Brand ID as reference.

Hi Piyush,
Yes, the same is done.
It appears (pending confirmation), the field length of 100 for case UPC is the hindrance. The limit for field length is 60.
Thanks

Hi Piyush,
I did proceed earlier in the same way before posting the query. For me, I can see the options for few of the PRODUCT attributes, but not all. As a matter of fact, I too can see the BRAND ID as shown by you now.
See my set up for PRODUCT master data. (In the ss, not all of the elements are captured).

When I go to the settings for Product life cycle, I do not see all the ID with reference to the Product Master data 'PRODUCT', seen in the ss as QAPRODUCT.

Hence the question is what needs to be done so that the existing ID 'ZEANCASE1' for PRODUCT should be available for the settings for Product Life cycle.
Thanks.
