For US Fuel calculation, we have fuel surcharge calculated based on regions. We need to maintain multiple index tables (PADD1, 1A, 1B,1C,2,3,4,5). Is it possible to have rate table determination rule to determine Fuel Index rate table based on regions/districts?
I can't able to find a place in Calculation sheet to maintain Rate table determination rule for Fuel Index. Kindly provide your insights on this.
Also suggest alternate option if any. If we have Fuel Index Rate table with Region and Calculation date, we have 2 things to consider - many regions/cities will follow same rate value(need to have multiple entries in table as well) and it needs to be maintained on weekly basis.
Thank you for your valuable time.

Hi Karthik,
I have done something similar before by maintaining scales for the fuel surcharge index table of CALC_DATE (base scale >=) and SOURCELOC_ZONE (same scale = ). This way, I could have different indexes based on regions in the US, which are maintained as zones.
The business following this model updates the index rate table with a new entry per region on a weekly basis.

Hi Sarah,
Thanks for your valuable inputs on this.
Currently we are planning to have zones based on districts/regions(Massachusetts, New York,Connecticut). In this case, we will have many zones which will follow same index Rate value (East Coast). If we have rate table based on Calculation date and Transportation zone, maintenance will be huge task every week (since there will be multiple entries in table for one calcualtion date).
Let me know if you can think of any alternative option to handle this.
Regards,
Karthik
