Pooled Capacity and Secondary resource in APO

Hello Experts,

what is the difference when

1. resource( Labor) Maintained as secondary resource in a recipe and

2. capacity (Labor) maintained as pooled resource in recipe ? In terms of Scheduling in APO ?

Hi Alin,

The secondary resource in Master Recipe will act as a suboperation in the PDS - it will be a different activity (with it's own mode) and could possibly have different duration to that of the main operation/phase. Activity relationships will be generated in the PDS between the main operation and the secondary resource.

When a secondary capacity is used, on the other hand, it will have the same duration as the main phase. In this case, a capacity requirement is added in the PDS for the secondary capacity under the main activity.
