Picking process - Damaged goods handling

Dears,

I'm currently facing following challenge: during outbound picking, the orderpicker has the possibility to report damage. Reporting damage for a certain amount of goods triggers a goods movement in background from the picking bin towards a (pre-)scrapping bin. After this move, the orderpicker is being sent back to the initial picking location to pick again the requested amount, in case there is stock left. This works as a charm, until you look at the bigger picture...

Imagine there are 4pc in a picking bin. There are 2x2pc requested from 2 orderpickers. The first orderpicker arrives and notices 2 damaged pieces and reports this. These 2pc are moved in background towards the pre-scrapping bin. Afterwards, he tries to pick the remaining 2 pieces but due to the setting that we allow negative availably quantity, the available qty in this bin will now be -2 (due to the open request of the other orderpicker). Negative available quantities can't be confirmed, even not with an exception code (eg. BIDF). This results in the orderpicker being stuck in this location.

Question: as moving the damaged goods in the system while having open WT's for the source bin is not an option as this results in a negative available quantity, I'm searching for another solution to treat or log the damage. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Maarten
