Picking in Alt UoM

Hello experts,

We are on embedded EWM 1809. We have a requirement to pick the deliveries in alt UoM (case). Inbound and stock keeping will be in EA (base UoM). Is there a equivalent of Issue UoM or WM unit from LE-WM in EWM? I tried the "Pref UoM" in Product master along with config of delivery item types having "Apply ERP AoUM as SUoM" and making stock specific UoM as case. It worked. But that requires me to receive and maintain stock in case. Is there a way to do this just in outbound process?

Thanks for the inputs Ajit, As mentioned in my initial question, I have already tried with success the SUoM option. But that requires stock to be maintained in AUoM to work. What I am looking for is just the outbound process similar to how the "WM Unit" worked even though stock was in Base UOM. Looks like I will have to use a BADI.

Thank you for writing in.

Warehouse Process Type: Rounding Whole Quantity-> 3 so WT quantity would split .

ST 0100- in storage type config,Quant Addition to Stock AUoM in Storage Bin/HU either 3 or 4 .Please check SAP documentation for more details.

During Replenishment, fill the case stock as AUOM (HU Requirement-Y in and quantity classification in Case Storage type) by using case pick hu/pack spec so you would avoid HU in Bin

Please note doc related to Decentralize system so adjust your config accordingly.

Hi Ajit,

All finished products are received in EA and stocked in EA. We create HU at pallet level for these products during GR and store them in storage type 0010. It is not possible to create HU at case level because there are too many. We have a pick storage type 0100 (where the pallets are opened or shrink wrap removed for picking, so the pallet HU number is lost - we can keep it if it helps) which gets replenished from 0010. Most orders are received in EA and are mainly less than a pallet. These orders are then picked from ST 0100 using a pallet PICK HU. Each pallet can have multiple cases of different materials. Here it is easier to pick in cases or otherwise they will have to count in EA. Requirement is simple - just convert the pick UoM to Case either on ODO or WT. All other processes and stockkeeping will be in EA.

Hi Ajit,

I forgot to mention. Only our full pallets are stored with HUs. Our case pick storage type is not HU managed (too many HUs to print and manage). Is there any option to do it by just using UoM conversion? Thanks

My Assumption:

Would you like to pick in Cases even though Stock is stored as EA in both (BUOM and AUOM) ?

*Cartonization/ Case Pick HU

Could you please help us to understand your requirement with an example.

I think this is possible via Pack Spec if you are not storing AUOM during putaway.

Please maintain pack spec and let us know if you stuck.
