Hi Experts,

Hope you are all doing well !!

We have been working on proposal for e-commerce requirement for our client. As we have huge number of small orders , earlier we have planned to go for two step picking. On the other hand, we came to know SAP EWM 9.5 is offering 'pick by cart' feature for e-commerce picking. Currently we are using EWM 9.0, in case if we are upgrading to EWM 9.5 along with SAP ERP, is pick by cart feature could be used in SAP ERP background?? or it will run only on S/4 Hana background.??

Hi,

two step picking and pick by cart are not really the same things. While you combine several warehouse requests in a wave and can use this for two step picking, the pick by cart app simplifies the process if you have several pick HUs to put one on positions on one cart. The documentation mentions several orders - but that does not mean several warehouse orders. At least in my tests it was always only one warehouse order. This again can combine several warehouse requests, so a wave would also be useful.

The features is of course in EWM, not in ERP, not really sure what the S/4HANA reference is about.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi,

"In SAP blog I have read Pick by cart Fiori app requires S/4 Hana as back end product. "

Hm, where does it say that? You need SAP Fiori, but the app is available with EWM9.5, and I would not be aware that it needs SAP HANA as DB or anything like that. It is probably more prominent featured in something describing EWM as part of S/4HANA, and maybe there were improvements since 9.5.

Hi, you can use /SCWM/RFUI also (instead of the SAP Fiori Pick-Cart-App). I was surprised to see it as you don't get a mention anywhere, but if you follow the How-to-guide it works nicely as an RF-process, too (look for "Pick-by-Cart" here: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SCM/How-To+Guides+for+SAP+EWM).

juergen.pitz When a wave is released for multiple deliveries, the Warehouse Tasks are assigned to One warehouse order. How are the delivery items separated? Are the Products picked into the pick HUs on the carts by delivery or are the items bundles together and then separated at the packing or Ship Station?

That has to be solved by the WOCR. Putting it all in one pick HU and separating it at a pack work center is difficult (I assume). The split into separate pick HUs can be controlled by the parameter "Max.CGrp per HU" (Maximum number of consolidation group per HU) in the warehouse order limit rule.
