Packing on Freight Order (SAP TM)

Hi,

Is it possible to do packing on Freight Order level? From what I can gather it is only possible to do the packing on delivery level. In the Freight Order it is then possible to see the various HUs linked to each delivery.

The problem by doing packing on delivery level and not on Freight Order level is that it can lead to an incorrect number of pallets (or other HU) on the Freight Order. Example:

2 deliveries each containing goods for 0.5 pallets. When packing each delivery separately, in each delivery 1 pallet is entered (not possible to enter 0.5 pallet in the HU packing). On the Freight Order 2 pallets are then shown (1 from each delivery). But in reality/physically only 1 pallet was used containing 0.5 pallets from each delivery.

Is there a solution for this?

Thanks in advance

Hello Branden,

The HU is owned by the delivery, so the relationship is one to one. So, It will not be possible to combine them into one single pallet. As of now, we do not support the use case which you have outlined in the S4HANA Cloud.

Hi Dimpu,

are there any plans regarding this functionality? Couldn't find anything on the roadmap.

Hi Marco, thanks for your reply.

Any suggestions on how to deal with packing items from 2 deliveries on 1 and the same pallet? With current solution in each delivery packing needs to be done separately so total number of pallets could be higher than actual number of pallets.

Example:

Delivery A, item 10: Quantity which can be packed onto 0.5 pallets
Delivery B, item 10: Quantity which can be packed onto 0.5 pallets

Packing in reality: A/10 and B/10 are packed onto the same pallet. Together 1 full pallet

Packing in SAP: A/10 is packed onto 1 pallet + B/10 is packed onto 1 pallet. Together 2 pallets. This is what is visible in the Freight order and the corresponding CMR/Waybill.

Kind regards,

Wouter

Hi Wouter,

This is not possible directly from the freight order as you indicated, you will need to execute handling units using the normal functionality of the outbound delivery as you indicated.
