Hello there,
we are required to include a Packing List for all our international deliveries. How can thesebe generated with the default Output Parameter Determination functionality? This is a standard requirement but I am unable to any functionality for this it in the S/4HANA Public Cloud system.
I found this similar post, which was not answered properly (there seems to have been some confusion between Picklist and Packlist and it was closed prematurely).
We need those also for HUs (palettes) that may include several other HUs (cartons) as well as a number of individual Items - possibly across multiple orders. Therefore, the Packing List needs to resolve all of the contained HUs and provide detailed information about each item (such as quantity, weight, dimensions, etc.).
With kind regards,
Christopher
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Christopher,
Thanks for your question. I'm the responsible product manager for Handling Unit Management.
Jerry's answer is correct. We are just right now working on a Packing list and try to ship it in 2302. It will include all inner HUs of an outer HU in a structure with related details of the outer and inner HU(s).
Unfortunately, there is no chance to print this packing list before our delivery as it is needed to provide a template, the related customizing, and a new output type. Due to my knowledge, there is no chance to get this information out of the system right now.
Best regards,
Volker

Thank you for the clarification.
Is there already a name to this feature under development (or at least a general category in the release notes to look into) in order to verify that this will indeed be included in the 2302 (as soon as this can be positively confirmed)?
With kind regards,
Christopher
Can we have a call on this? This makes it more easy to understand your requirements. You can find my number in the profile.
Thanks,
Volker
Hi Christopher,
We also have not seen a packing list per se. I did read the other thread from your link - it is possible a pack list will be released with 2302, however I could not find it in the Roadmap. (but that does not mean the colleagues will not release one).
Are you working with the embedded Warehouse Management or only Logistics?
Typically, we have implemented the Delivery Note for use as a packing list. Please review the Delivery Note.
We also provide several HU Shipping labels

Hello Jerry,
thank you for your reply.
Since a single delivery may encompass several distinct "outer" packets that can not themselves be placed into a singular "parent" HU (for example two or more separate palettes), the Delivery Note itself may not be usable for this. Each packet would have to list its own contents without referring to the other HUs that belong to the same delivery.
On the other hand, the HU Shipping Labels do not seem to list all the contents of every HU contained within them, just the primary contents of this (outer) HU - so the contents of cartons (HUs) on a palette (also a HU) don't seem to show up as separate items on this form when generated for the palette it seems.
So it seems, an actual Packing List would be quite difficult to piece together from the datasources for multiple HUs if those are nested within one another.
If there exists a convenient way to achieve this (apart from exporting a series of excel-files for each HU, merging them manually and formatting/importing the data into a proper document) please let us know.
With kind regards,
Christopher
