Output Condition Record for Order Changes from a Purchase Order (ME22N)

Is there an existing configuration where I can have a separate output condition record between my order changes (generated from the PO - ME22N) and order (generated from the PO - ME21N)?

Requirement is that orders (ORDERS) needs to be outputted via 'EDI'; While order changes needs to be outputted via 'External Send'.

On what I understand, maintaining an entry in MN04 will always be true for both orders and order changes (i.e. maintaining an EDI output entry will take effect for both order and order changes). I can't find a way so that orders can be outputted via EDI while order changes can be outputted via External Send automatically.

Would someone know a configuration that can do this requirement?

Hi bicolexpress,

I believe a new condition for output type has to be created through NACE, along with control and access sequence also for that message.

Kindly advise if you already tried that and share the results if you can.

We already have output types maintained in NACE which we can use for output creation purposes. I consulted with our senior resource (after his holiday) and told us that there is no configuration where we can have different output types for orders and order changes (for automatic output generation), since MN04 output maintenance works for both orders and order changes.

I also tried testing further by maintaining two different output types in MN04 (Output Condition Record), but to no avail.

Please see below configurations and parameters I did.

Configuration and Parameters:

WE20:

ORDERS - Maintained with message type ZPOA (hoping to output EDI orders)

ORDCHG - Maintained with message type ZEDI (hoping to output manual Order Change; not sure if this configuration matters since we don't intend to output EDI)

MN04:

ZPOA Output - Maintained with Vendor Number; Purch Org; and Medium '6 EDI'

ZEDI Output - Maintained with Vendor Number; Purch Org; and Medium '5 External Send'

Testing:

I created a sample order in ME21N to see the resulting generated output. As per the order output alone, I can see both ZPOA and ZEDI outputs getting created.

Both the ZEDI and ZPOA output were created for the orders message alone. Therefore, there is indeed no existing configuration where we can configure automatic output generation for orders and order changes with a different output type each.
