Hello All,
I understand there is Time Series based shelf life algorithm available.
My question is around Order based planning and how to consider Shelf life/Min Shelf life while planning using order based. Has anyone implemented OBP considering shelf life?
Any pointers in this directions will be very helpful.
Thanks,
Tejinder
Request clarification before answering.
As of today, there is no solution for shelf life in OBP, but it is on the roadmap.
Therefore at the moment all customer I know plan with TS heuristic and / or PP/DS
You can still use OBP as a kind of data hub by grabbing the TS results, copy them to OBP and convert them into e.g. planned orders with a new functionality that is planned for 2105 release. As far as I know with a new job template the values are directly converted without any considerations of other constraints so at east you do not need to build an extra interface
Sorry for the bad news

Hello Irmi,
Thanks for your prompt reply, Can you please elaborate bit more on the possible solution. If I understand you correctly below can be the steps
1. Execute TS Shelf life heuristics considering Required shelf life/ Minimum shelf life , Stock on hand, firm orders etc. to generate planned orders or transport receipts
2. Copy planned orders & transport receipts from TS Shelf life planning area into OBP planning area (Minimum Production Receipts & Minimum Distribution Receipts) and execute Order Confirmation run to consider the output from TS Shelf life planning area + also go pegging here. While doing this do not bring stock on hand, firm orders in OBP as those were already considered during netting in TS planning area.
Please let me know if this would work and we can go ahead with this proposal
Thanks,
Tejinder
