Opportunistic Cross Docking

Hi All,

I have done opportunistic cross docking setting in EWM and it works well but customer ask is that the pick task has to be created with stock removal first searching for the putaway bins and then for the GR area . I have maintained the stock removal sequence for the cross dock in the same order with first sequence for the putaway bins and then the GR area but when I create the pick task it completely ignores the stock removal sequence and searches for GR area first .. I have also maintained the stock determination rule with stock determination as priority. I am missing something?

Is there a way that I can achive this .

Hi,

what you are missing is that you are supposed to create your own BAdI implementation of the cross-docking BAdIs. The default implementations always make cross-docking if the opportunity is there. They don't care for FIFO or anything else. Because in reality CD is never that simple.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi girishmn19,

Please check reason below for your process: BADI does this process below.

"I am missing something?""-> As per my understanding, you do not need cross docking here for your scenario. Please remove the cross docking config and I believe it would work for you.

Note

  • For the cross-docking, EWM only considers inbound delivery items for which goods receipt has been confirmed.

EWM does not consider inbound delivery items that are relevant for the quality inspection.

  • If packed quantities in goods receipt are relevant for the cross-docking, the product quantity of a handling unit is not distributed across different outbound deliveries, meaning the handling unit is not split. The product quantity in the handling unit must be less than or identical to the requested quantity of an outbound delivery. In addition, this process only supports homogeneous handling units, in other words, a handling unit must contain one type of product only.
  • If unpacked quantities in the alternative unit of measure (AUoM) in the goods receipt are relevant for cross-docking, the system does not split a whole AUoM.
  • EWM also determines putaway and outbound delivery order items for opportunistic cross-docking, for which warehouse tasks have already been generated. EWM cancels these warehouse tasks under the following prerequisites:
    • The stock removal strategy does not follow the FIFO principle.
    • The warehouse tasks are procNoteessed in the radio frequency environment (RF environment).
    • EWM has not generated the warehouse tasks for the material flow system.

Please test and let us know your results.

Kind Regards,

Ajit

Correction: There must no open task in GR Zone for incoming stock while picking wt creation .(without cross dock)
