One storage type with two activity areas

Hello SAP experts,

short question. Can you split a Storage type into to different activity areas for different activites such as picking and putaway? Or do I need two separat storage types?

Search sequence works with storage types, not with activity areas.

You can split this storage type into two. This is the usual customizing for such case. Check for example pick point process, maybe it helps.
