No planning results after S&OP Optimizer run in IBP

Hello everybody,

I am facing the following issue. I am running the TS-based supply planning with Optimizer. After the run, however, I don't get any planning results - no customer receipts, no production receipts and no external receipts.

On the other hand, with the heuristics planning run I have no issues and I get proper results. I have checked the Optimizer log and I only have information messages for some products. Regarding 3 of my raw materials I got this information message - 'External source of supply is ignored as External source of supply is already defined (with different Source id)' and no error messages. After running the optimizer, the results from the heuristics are simply erased.

Those raw materials are externally procured and in the MD 'Production Source Header' are defined with a source type 'U' and a production source ratio '1'. In the MD 'Location Source' they have a Source Ratio '0'. In S/4 these raw materials have purchase info records maintained.

The Optimizer profile has the default settings - profit maximization mode and currently no cost rates defined by using the excel template for supply plan cost rates (because for now I want just to test the functionality).

Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

Hello Julian,
without any costs, the optimizer has no incentive to fulfill any demands.
You can start with the Time-Independent Penalty Costs.
If this doesn't help, please enable the optimizer explanations and check the given results. Maybe some raw material or component sources are missing.

In fact, after turning the time-independent penalty costs on and after fixing the source of supply for two components, the optimizer is now running and providing planning results.
