Dears,
There is forecast 9ADFCST for next 100 buckets at Locations L1- Standard SNP Planning book
L1 is supplied by SL1, SL1, SL3.etc.using a valid till 9999 trans. lanes. Proc Type F.
SNP Optimizer (Linear Optimization) is run for next 100 buckets.
The LP procedure selected is Dual simplex interior point method.
There is no Max .run time.. its blank.
Parallel processes used = 1
SNP Prod horizon is 0
PPDS horizon is 0
Stock Transfer Horizon = 0
Result: Distribution Demands are created only for first 30 buckets and then gradually diminish in magnitude (vis a vis distribution demand).. beyond that to become 0 by e.g. 40th bucket.
Different product locations have this issue for differing buckets.. viz. Distr demands only created till (x-n)th bucket. x being last bucket.
Each run deletes existing data and generates fresh proposals.
What could be the root cause(s)?
PS: With my limited literacy, I can only pretend to read the SNP optimizer explanation log but I cant make out what it says. It does show that Distribution demands are created only for n buckets. Rest looks like intimidating stuff on purpose!.
Thanks
Amit

"I do not give a damn to this now" can you say that to the client? I wish
You have to train your eyes to see patters in the noise. OPTEXPLAIN is quite a useful tool along with the optimizer logs.

"Unfortunately there is no simple way pinpoint why optimizer does what it does"
Right. I have no clue. I do not give a damn to this now. The OPTEXPLAIN is a just a bunch of noise.

Hello
Have you maintained any non delivery penalty? If not maintain high enough penalties and it should work.
Unfortunately there is no simple way pinpoint why optimizer does what it does. You can explore /SAPAPO/OPTEXPLAIN
I generally go about looking in this sequence to see any potential leads...
1. in the result log check IT_Demand table to see if all demands were selected
2. check capacity in your case its not relevant
3. check the non delivery cost for the unfulfilled demand in it_notdeli and compare with other costs like production, transportation etc

Thanks Abhishek
I mentioned that Procurement type is F. External Procurement and there is no capacity constraint here. We maintain Costs per product in the t-lane and the lane is valid for eternity. The costs are maintained to restrict which T-lanes and hence which supplying plant is selected by optimizer.
Thanks
