New planning object creation

For forecasting a new product introduction, we are updating respective master data types and to create new planning object, we are uploading a flat file with one of the Key figure value as 1. Is that's the only way, we can do NPI or is there a better way to do it.

How about CREATE_MISSING_PLANNING_OBJECT Forecast Global Parameter?:

I am not aware of other alternatives for automatic creation besides these both.

I can use the parameter you mentioned for existing product. But if it's a new product, what is the best way to create the Planning Object?

Hi Jeff,

You can also use the Copy Operator, there is a parameter called CREATE_TIMEPERIODS that create the time periods with empty value.
