new calculation method in TM

we have a requirement where we need to trigger custom coding for a given charge type to update the amount. we would like to use a new calculation method as suggested in Customizing as follows:

then, we assign the method to the charge item as follows:

Normally, i like this place better than the calc enginge because it is triggered for a given charge type and it is very visible that we are doing an enhancement. but, the debugger does not stop when we do "reset charges".

Did anyone use it too and knows what the problem could be? we are in the latest S4 version.
