Use LB10, LU04, LQ01, LQ02 to look for posting changes, transfer requirements. This is a common reason for negative stocks. It is a good idea to run these reports on a regular basis.

Another possible reason could be authorization problems - for example, the user creates a TO that should post goods movement in the background, but the user is not authorized for the IM movement and the stock is stuck in the interim storage type.

Or there could be differences from picking or from counting which are posted to storage type 999.

In general - it is unwise to use LT01 and adjust negative stocks without proper investigation. Such approach may cause more problems than it can solve.

If you have no WMS consultant - you can hire some freelancer, or you can study the materials from Learning Hub (SCM630 and SCM631); there are some good books from SAP Press about WMS... just, please, do not use LT01 if you do not know from where the negative stock originates!

And before you start changing the configuration for storage types like Vignesh suggested - please read the documentation why for specific storage types you need to allow negative stocks. If you remove the setting for negative stock from certain storage types like 999, 922, 920, 921, 922, 910, 911 and so on, it is very likely that some critical processes in the warehouse will cease to work.

taherms56 a knowledgeable WMS consultant with access to your system could perform proper investigation, with screenshots only, I am afraid, it is not a good idea to suggest a solution.

You could also try looking for transfer orders created manually from these storage types, but it will be a challenge to find out what exactly went wrong (from the screenshot it seems that the last movement was a few months ago). Try finding a fresh example, it will be easier for you to investigate (and there will be a higher chance that the user would remember what he/she did exactly, why and how).

Anyways, 922 storage type in standard systems is typically used for posting change notices. It may be that somebody set manually the posting change status to completed.

It may be a good idea that you also review the customizing for movement types (especially the interface to inventory management), storage type search, the storage location control (although this one as a root cause is unlikely). If even after going through all configuration there is no logical explanation of what is causing the problem you may consider looking for inconsistencies in WMS which can be a result of custom development, incorrect customizing that was subsequently changed, a problem in the standard solution (for this one there might be correction notes) and so on.

Such investigation cannot be performed via screenshots in a reasonable time frame.

Taher,

The reason why negative stock appears in your bin is because you allowed negative stock in your configuration. You can clear this by following the below step :

Use TCode LT01 and movement type 999 to post from the postive quant to the negative quant and this will nullify the stock.

After this goto customizing :

SPRO -> Logistics Execution -- Warehouse Management--- Interfaces -- Inventory Management -> Allow Negative Stocks in Interim Storage Types --- Allow negative stock for each storage type in the Implementation Guide (IMG) -> Untick the checkbox.

Also go to below customizing path :

SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Master Data-> Strategies-> Putaway Strategies-> Define Strategy for Fixed Bins -> Double clikc on Warehouse number and untick the allow negative stock.

Taher,

So as I thought so the configuration is done like that. But now you need to first understand why those configuration was done by the respective WM consultant who implemented it, you will need to check the Business Process document which the consultant would have submitted in which he would have written all the documentation wrt requirement of business and configuration based on that. so pls check that first, then you will need to investigate every material document wrt to the movement types and why it happened. Create a Case study or get help from some WM freelancer who could help you out with that, and as Veselina also suggested, do proper investigation before changing any configuration.Let me tell you, this is a normal issue which happens in almost all industries where WM is implemented, but it's just that with a consultant who has expertise in that domain can solve this issue in minimum time.
