Hi All
Requesting input on below question....
I have a situation where product allocation is being maintained at header as well as in component level. Requirement is when Sales order will be created system should check the allocation at header and output of that will be passed into it's component (MATP scanario) and then the component allocation will further act on the requested qty from header level and finally confirm the amount and that will be used for sales order confirmation.
MATP allowed for both header and component (both being assembly, assume 3 levels of BOM) in the check mode. In the Check instruction I have maintained 2 levels of basic check for both header and component ... first for basic ATP and Second Step for Allocation. And then in the Production section, allowed production after basic Av check.
However it is not working and the check is failing. Can you please provide some input what I am missing ? Kind of urgent and any help will be appreciated.

Jayc
Request clarification before answering.
Jayc,
In MATP, PAL check is fully supported only at the header level.
During MATP, during the ATP check for the components, the only Characteristics that are passed to the PAL check for the components are 'component product' and 'component location'. If you set up CVCs for your component Product Allocations using only these two characteristics, the PAL check should work.
There are also some other 'gotchas' for the Product Allocation check carried out at the component level. Review note 931249.

Hi DB49
Thank you for your response. However I have used 9AMATNR & 9ALOCNO as InfoObjects for both Header and Component MPOS.
Have a look at few details....
BOM structure....T-TEST02-A (header)-->T-TEST04 (component)
Have stock of header T-TEST02-A = 1000 and Component, T-TEST04 = 300
Allocation for Header: 400 per week
Allocations for component: 200 per week
Trying creation of SO for qty 1300 and expectation is I will get 5 schedule lines (400+400+200= for header) and (200+100=Component). However I am getting 4 instead and 300 is getting confirmed in 1 schedule line.Meaning system is not honoring the PAL set for Component and hence not splitting the 300 into 200 + 100.
Can you add some light on that ?
N.B. 1.Thank you for the reference note...it's good one and will be useful.

Hi
Missed out one important update....please ignore the last post. The Check Instruction for the Component was not configured for PAL.
But when I had enabled that, during SO creation system is giving below error...
*******************************************************************************************************
Error details:
Characteristics combination for item /000000 was not found
Message no. /SAPAPO/ATP201
Diagnosis
The system could not determine the following data:
The characteristics combination for the item /000000/ that is used to choose product allocation quantities in the characteristics combinations directory of product allocation group XCMP
Suitable entries for collective product allocations of the characteristics combination from the sales order
System Response
The system does not execute the check against product allocations.
Procedure
Expand the characteristics combinations directory (for example, using the planning hierarchy) to include the missing characteristics combination or the collective product allocations that correspond to the characteristics combination from the sales order.
*********************************************************************************************************
I guess I have understood the reason for the error (I am assuming ). During order creation system is exploding BOM and going into the PAL of Component and in the XCMP MPOS for component it is not getting combination corresponding to the header material and giving error.
I tried to fix it by creating CVC for header in the component PAL. That resolved the issue. But then I have observed below things:
Checking Instruction @ header MATP section....
a. creating remaining reqmt at header : System is not checking component stock at all--hence no question of Allocation for component. In fact it is stating missing parts for component of 300 qty although it has stock of 300 qty.
b. creating remaining reqmt at component (reduc confirm): Below is the screen shot
Two things I have question for: 1. Component Allocation not getting considered
2. Why 1300 is getting considered when component requirement is showing as 'unchecked' ?
C. creating remaining reqmt at component (retain confirm): Result is same as that of a.
Please help in getting the answer for the puzzle.
Regards,
Jayc
