MRP Type relevance for IBP Response

Hi, can you please clarify if MRP type x0 is the significant factor to determine a material-location combination is planning relevant for IBP Response, similar to APO? If not, please help clarify how IBP response identifies the planning relevancy of a material-location combination from ECC and S4.

Thanks,

Regards, Guru

Hello Guru,

In contract to APO, MRP Types in S/4 HANA are not tightly coupled with IBP. For your specific scenario, you have the option to choose from filter options which you run the Supply planning engine in IBP Response

Now you can populate a different subnetwork using BADIs for the Material location that you want in IBP but do not want to plan. or you can create Planning Filters on MRP Types and use them in your Supply Planning runs.

Hope this helps.

Gaurav

Hi Gaurav,

From integration point of view, when you integrate non-X0, the APO system knows that it is externally procured and doesn't consider in planning [by setting procurement type = P]. So, the MRP type X0 is a signifying factor at least for APO scope of planning. I wanted to know if the same applies to IBP R/S as well. If yes, what master data attribute in product-location master tells IBP R/S planning run that it doesn't fall in the scope of planning - is it the procurement type itself?

With integration models, I can integrate even non-X0 but that I may have to do it for the sake of transactional data alignment between my execution and planning systems but I do not want to consider a few materials [like relevant for labelling or some spare parts] in planning. It is for this reason that there should be an identifier like MRP type that tells the planning system that the materials at locations having non X0 MRP type will not be to considered during planning [even though they are part of the integration model].

Can you please clarify on this?

Thanks,

Regards, Guru

Hello Guru,

IBP Response receives from ECC/S/4 the Location products included in the Active Integration Models and executes planning on them.

To include your Location Products in the Integration models, you can choose MRP Type as a filter. 'X0' is being put for APO and IBP as materials associated with this MRP type are not touched by MRP runs in the ECC or S/4 HANA systems.

For integration with IBP , It is upto you to pick 'X0' or have any other MRP type included in your filter while creating your integration Models.

Thanks
Gaurav
