Hi Experts,
Good day. Just want to ask how procurement proposals behave with respect to dependent requirements.
Sample scenario. I have a FG that has an SFG component. 1 SFG is required to produce 1 SFG.
I transfer from APO a demand of 100 for the FG and a planned order of 80pcs. Now after running MRP for the FG & SFG, will the proposal for the SFG planned order base it's quantity on the 100 demand or the 80pcs planned order of the FG?
Thanks

Hi Raf,
-
That will depend on the production planning heuristic you're executing, what settings have been made for the heuristic, and the planned order status.
-
For example, if the Planned Order is output firmed and you execute Planning of Standard Lots heuristic (SAP_PP_002) with Lot-Size procedure Lot-For-Lot and the default settings, the heuristic will allocate the firmed planned order to the demand and generate a new receipt for the remaining shortage quantity (20).
-
If the Planned Order is not firmed, it will also depend on the heuristic settings. For example, SAP_PP_002 has a setting called Reuse Mode - if this is set to "Delete Unfixed Receipts", the unfirmed PlOrd will be deleted and a new one will be generated (for the whole requirements quantity), when necessary.
-
To summarize: it's not possible to provide a single reply that will encompass all possible scenarios, given in APO we have multiple heuristics which can be used for production planning, each of them with its own settings. I would recommend you to try out and get acquainted with SAP_PP_002 heuristic, as that will give you a good overview on what settings exist that can affect the planning behavior in PP/DS.

Hi Tiago,
Thanks for your detailed answer. Just some follow-up details and questions.
We would be using the SAP_PP_002 profile and right now, what is transferred from APO to the 100 demand, and the 80pcs planned order for the Finished product.
My question is really with the semi-finished product attached. Would the depreq be following the 100 quantity that is from the demand or would it be proposing only 80, because of the 80pcs planned order?
Hi Raf,
If you run SAP_PP_002 for the semi-finished product, it will cover the dependent demand quantity generated for the component (from the 80 PCs PlOrd), the remaining shortage from finished product level is not considered.
Regards,
Tiago
