MRP Areas and SLOC in SAP IBP

Greetings Experts

Can you please advise me as how to integrate MRP Areas from ECC to IBP, meaning, will it be a location or is there an attribute or master data type that I can bring this into?

What will be the best approach for integrating SLOCs from ECC into IBP?

We have a few ideas as below;

1. For SLOC and MRP Area - Make these a root attribute on the Location Product master data level, changing this master data type to Product Location Sloc/MRP Area

2. During the integration, we will concatenate the Plant ID (1033) from ECC with the SLOC/MRP Area (8044) from ECC in the CPI-DS. This will then populate the Location ID as 10338044.

3. Creating MRP Area/ SLOC as a reference master data to Location.

Please advise, I am sure someone has had this issue before as well.

Yes, we have succesfully implemented this solution and have gone live as well. We achieved this by concatenating the Material ID with the Storage Location to create the Product ID e.g. Laptop_1234; Laptop_1235; Laptop_1236 etc.

The challenge was extracting the data since the standard S4/ECC extractor needed a lot of development. That was the only challenge otherwise everything else is running smoothly.

In SOP Supply, you cannot change root attributes, the algorithm would not work. So having a different MD type with reference would not help so much either. I think the concatenation is the best way to go as of today.

But maybe someone else found another solution

Thanks for your feedback. The impact of changing the Master Data type is too high to even attempt it. Thanks for confirming
