Moving Q-stock between Plants

Hi,

I need the following process:

1. Post Quality stock from Production order on Plant A

2. Move Quality stock from Plant A to Plant B

3. Record inspection results and Usage decision for inspection lot, so that to get Unrestricted stock on Plant B

To move Q-stock between Plants I used: Purchase order (PUB stock transfer) and outbound delivery.

Preliminary I did the following configuration to allow Purchase order picking Q-stock:

Service Parts Management (SPM) > Transfer and Inventory Management (SPM) > Activate Source Stock Type Determination

------------------------------

Which result I have:

1. Q-stock was successfully picked from Plant A for Stock transfer order with Mvmnt 641

2. Posted on Plant B. The problem that it was posted as "Unrestricted"

So the question is: how to pick Q-stock from "Plant A" and posted the same Q-stock on "Plant B"

PS. Stock transfer Mvmnt 301 does not allow picking "Q-stock"

Hello there

You could investigate 'Production in alternative plant' where plant A is your production and plant B is your planning plant (use special procurement 80 as a copy template). GR from production in plant A will go straight into QI stock in plant B. The only "blemish" is that the inspection lot would still be under plant A.

Hi Janbuchmann. Thanks, I've tried. This is valid idea, but here we are missing "shipping process which is important"

If Inspection lot created in one plant for quality stock then its not possible to move it wihtout completing the UD for it. You can complete the inspection in first plant itself. while posting the UD you can move the material to restricted use or stock transfer storage location in QA32 itself.

Later move the material to another plant with 322 movement. Also activate the 08 transfer posting inspection in second plant with same inspection plan. So the stock will be moved to Quality with inspection lot. You can record the Inspection results over there. But its double time activity.

You can use app transfer stock cross plant.

Hi Raghavan. Thank you for this option. The valid business process is: 1.post q-stock from production, 2.immediately move to another plant, 3.perform inspection on another plant. What you are suggesting is very complicated workaround.

I think this is an unique business case. You can also try post to unrestricted at plant A and perform 08 inspection at plant B when you do STO/Shipping. 

You may have to elaborate why you need to perform inspection at plant A and release it in plant B unless there are restrictions in product flow between these plants.

Hi Karthik. The business scenario is following: Plant A produce goods, but due to lack of storage location deliver it to Plant B. Only after that Quality inspection happens.
