Moving into SAP/4 HANA implementation, 2 Warehouses merging recommendation yes or no

Dear All,

I need your kind support and recommendations here A.S.A.P

Currently we have 2 Warehouses,

1- Main Warehouse serving everyone.

2- UG Warehouse , a contractor had been executed and we took the responsibility of managing the W/H.

there're some common items in both Warehouses , different stock codes of the same parts..

we're confused , is it better to keep each Warehouse managed separately or to merge..

what is the best practice here , we need to keep things such smoothly running alowing end user to pick the items without long confusing process nor time waste..

S/4HANA or ECC, WM or EWM, in my opinion the best practice is the same - a warehouse number should model are warehouse building or a group of building in close proximity to one another.

It should not be used to model stock ownership or stock availability.

So if both warehouses are close to each other or are located in the same building - use one warehouse number. Otherwise go with two warehouse number and implement stock transfers between them in MM.
