Mixed HU pick for OBD in EWM

Dear Experts,

We have a mixed HU with different parts in High bay rack. Whenever OBD is raised with the parts present in that mixed HU, system is expected to pick that mixed HU instead of creating multiple pick tasks for products from same or different bins. Is there any standard functionality to achieve this?

This activity is similar to Kit to stock and picking header part, but the constraint is we dont have Header part available to use Kit to stock / kit to Order functionality.

"Is there any standard functionality to achieve this?"-> In my understanding, you need to enhance your OWN RF to manage such requirement with single WO per mixed products per HU if you don't like to use kitting. Cartonization (during picking/Packing) could be an option here but again it would multiple pick with some development.

Additionally, you can check with SAP Consulting for add on functionality.

Hi Ajit,

Thanks for your response.

Primary concern is on determining the HU,system proposes to pick from different HU, breaking the combination which has been made(Mixed HU). Second step is on confirmation part which i understand on going with RF enhancement.

Its a Kit to stock, (header pick) scenario but business constraint doesnt permit header part creation and order generation for header part

"Primary concern is on determining the HU,system proposes to pick from different HU, breaking the combination which has been made(Mixed HU)" -> I feel If you know the combination of items (Mixed HU) in same order/delivery for the customer then you can easily set a new WPT as mixed, then create activity area/search sequence/Picking strategy where mixed stuffs are available in high bay, then set up strategy for WPT. Again it is an enhancement for WPT if concerned influencing parameters in sales order/delivery are not set by business manually.

Hi Ajit, for sure system does not try all possible options to pick proper hu with proper items which are exact match to the delivery.

You can try to achieve this with /SCWM/EX_CORE_RMS* RMS BAdis, most important would be /SCWM/EX_CORE_RMS_DETERMINE.

But for the beginning you can try to change quants sorting logic to make system prefer bins with open picking WTs, this would be standard (PICK_ITM)

Thanks for your valuable inputs! I agree!

I think before start the development in strategy, there is a need to streamline the process with Functional Design like Mixed HU with separate WPT, Separate Picking Strategy if any specific area involved...etc thus it would increase the performance in system/process.
