Missing PERIODID

Dear All,

I have found an issue when trying to upload data to my planning area. As per some information I found in the web, it seems related to the time profile. The funny thing is that I can upload data in the planning area in the development system, then I transported everything (dependent time profile included) but it is failing in productive system. Should I do anything to the time profile if I am using one of the ones provided by SAP? (333 in this case).

Thanks,

Alex.

Please review you should load the time profile , master data and key figure in Production system

Time profile name get transported in PA but loading of time period should be application job for relevant production environement

Thanks Anil, I didn't take into account this point regarding the time period generation. This was my missing task. Now all the data was correctly uploaded into the planning area.

There are a couple of settings relevant:

In the time profile, you have start and end date. My recommendation is to have the end date in the time profile in the VERY far future, like end of the century, because you will never need to adjust that, and especially not every year. It has no impact on the sizing but just gives a border of what you can loaded or set up in the other settings

Then you have in the time profile the number of periods in the future and past for each time bucket. That value is only the DEFAULT value you get when you create a new excel template, but it has no impact on what is really stored. However, it must be equal or bigger than the settings in the planning area

But if you don't load enough time series with the time profile file, like only 2 years future even though your potential future comprises until the year 3000, you may get an error during data load of key figures when those are having data for three years.

So here again my recommendation is to load VERY long future horizon, so you never need to consider that again before you retire. And make sure you load exactly the same file to your production system then to development.

What is really relevant for sizing is then the setting in the planning area: Here the past and future buckets from the planning horizon define what you can really maximum load and select in excel planning view. Even if the time profile is loaded until the year 3000, if your future monthly periods have only 24 months in the planning area horizon you can still only load 24 month future.
