Missing Automated Defect Recording Pop Up for QM-Quality Notification

Good day, all.

We are an active implementation of S4 HANA in the Quality Management space, having gone live a year ago (April 2023).  We've determined that our automated pop up of the defects recording window in our quality inspection results recording is no longer happening automatically.  With a couple of manual steps, we can force the window to appear, but it had been happening automatically and is no longer.

The MICs are all set for defects recording.  The confirmation profile and report profile have not changed for any of the notification types.

While we can click the Create Defects button or force the defects window to appear, we're unclear as to why the dialog box is no longer automatically generated.  Has anyone had this happen in their S4 system?

Hello becca656, Ideally if we have set defect recording in MIC's control indicator, Pop-up will be trigged if the results are outside the limit.

Thanks, Prasath, we have verified that the indicator is set. It is only happening on a limited number of MICs and only during manufacturing inspection. We're not sure why this is happening, but we can replicate it. I may request someone in technical run a trace on this to see where it's breaking down.

Hi,

To activate the automatic POP screen for defect recording post-rejection of characteristics in result recording, ensure the "Defect recording" checkbox is checked in the control indicators of inspection characteristics.

If utilizing the task list, navigate to inspection characteristics, click on control indicators, and check the "Defect recording" checkbox under the results confirmation tab.

For master inspection characteristics, similarly access the control indicators and mark the "Defect recording" checkbox within the results confirmation tab.

This process triggers the pop-up. Additionally, for automatic assignment of defect codes to your result recordings post-rejection, assign the defect code in the catalogs of either your inspection characteristics or master inspection characteristics.
