Hi,
during migration from ECC to S/4HANA customer has decided to go for Stock Room Management as a first step and later on migrate to embedded EWM.
Wondering how the migration approach will look like for that.

Thanks Jonas for quick reply.
I am fully aware of that it will not be a classical migration object, but would like to know how to technically migrate already available WM config-/master data to EWM within S/4HANA.
If you move from ECC LE-WM to S/4HANA EWM you have at least some migration tools provided.

Hi mike_1804 ,
The approach described is a viable option for many customers who don't want to implement both EWM and do the transition to S/4HANA at the same time (often, the approach is "change as few things as possible).
If you implement EWM later on, it's not actually much of a migration, but more of a new implementation of the warehouse management component, as some of the underlying concepts are entirely different as well as the technical structure. Also, you will need to change some things in the surrounding modules (especially thinking of PP control cycles, MM, SD).
I tend to stress that the transition to EWM is not a migration project and not a mere technical change, but it is a full-cycle warehouse project with consequences for the other modules.
Best regards,
Jonas
