Hello,
We are currently migrating ECC LE-TRA to S/4 TM and we were wondering if there is any way to migrate Shipment Documents and Shipment Cost Documents (historical and live documents) to create the equivalent TM documents (Freight Units, Freight Orders/Bookings and Freight Settlement documents) in S/4 HANA.
For example, we can migrate transportation lanes, zones and other master data via Migration Cockpit using certain BAPIs. Is there any BAPI or tool to migrate LE-TRA documents to TM?
Best regards,
Alberto

Hello Alberto,
There is no standard way to directly migrate from LE-TRA documents and objects into TM equivalents. For some things there isn't even a direct equivalent because the two solutions are very different in their architecture and functional design.
You'd have to migrate LE-TRA objects from SAP ECC as LE-TRA objects in SAP S/4HANA. Any historic documents would remain as LE-TRA and you'd have to make a phase-out of the LE-TRA solution (No new LE-TRA documents, close currently open LE-TRA documents when process allows, simultaneously beggin using TM for any new transportation activities, etc...)

Hello Roberto, thank you for the answer.
I am thinkig that this approach makes sense for brownfield migrations where the customer is already using LE-TRA, but for greenfield migrations I am seeing many flaws, and since LE-TRA migrations to TM are actually greenfield migrations, I am seeing that any migration from LE-TRA to TM (without considering the migration approach) will require a minimal implementation of LE-TRA in S/4 to have the historic documents and other objetcs required to have an historic record (Eg. pricing and rate rables).
I also see a bigger flaw in the GO-Live approach, specially where there are interfaces and live documents involved, since the LE-TRA phase out and TM simultaneous start could make desirable a fully LE-TRA implementation in S/4 in order to have a smooth transition.
Best regards,
Alberto

Hello Alberto,
Talking about SAP S/4HANA migration/implementation approaches:
