MFS for EWM ports, do you have a guideline from SAP? A consultant used port 2000 and 2002

A consultant used port 2000 and 2002 to work with PLC, they are using the telegram and have a group of plcs, he started using ports 20000 and 22000, but then he set some PLCs to 2000 and 2002.

When the channel was started the reserved port 2000 was enabled with an inactive service and the channel obviously didn't work.

All the team started to demand a solution, looking to this issue the voip and port 2000 2001 where reserved. We asked to move them but he demanded to open it.

Do you have a guideline for ports being used, looked in SAP notes, opened a case, looked on the ports of suse linux 15 , but there is no infor about this.

Do not allow Telegram channels to use any kind of port, the transcation does not validate the port number.

Hello @tiznda1

I don't think there are any SAP guidelines on port numbers to be used for PLC communication. That really depends on your network topology and other services used.

If the consultant could set some PLC ports to 20000 and 22000 and others to 2000 and 2002, it should not be a problem to set PLCs to use ports that are not reserved by other services.

Honestly I don't understand the consultant's attitude demanding port opening. A consultant is in no position to demand anything. They are to do the job according to customer requirements. If the consultant doesn't understand that, maybe it's time to replace them.
