Means of Transport and carrier in Freight order

Hello,

I need to know how means of transport is determined in Freight order for each item. ?

Secondly in T lanes, we define carrier for a means of transport. So why in Freight order, the Carrier is not assigned from T lane for each item ? Why one needs to go for carrier selection profile.

Just started learning TM.

Hi Sachin,

try to give some input as question is very broad.

For MTR determination. You are asking about MTR per Item, for a Freight Order there is one Header MTR which can be either defaulted or condition based determined according to freight order type. Not sure what you exactly refer to with the part per item, the MTR in this case represents the MTR of the Truck.

In regards to the question about TLane, there is basically no direct connection between TLane and a freight order. T-Lanes are only an input in that regard for the planning process and can be picked-up by also carrier selection. However there are other ways for carrier determination e.g. propagated from Carrier from Delivery etc.

Hi Emanuel,

could you please elaborate on how a carrier can be determined based on the Carrier from the delivery? Are you referring to the Shipping condition in the delivery?

Tim

Hi Tim,

it is actually the default behavior. If you maintain a forwarding agent(Partner Role SP) on the delivery it will be taken over to the freight unit per default and than also propagated to the freight order if there is no conflict with different carriers from different deliveries/freight units on the same FO.

On the Business Partner UI you can see it on the origin of Entry that the BP was propagated from predecessor.
