Material Lock Issue - Set Material Lock for Goods Movements

Hi all,

I would like to ask for your recommendations regarding a recurring issue we are facing with material locks when updating the batch expiration date (transaction MSC2N).

Each time the expiration date is updated, the material becomes locked, which leads to multiple issues:

IDocs between SAP and MES fail due to locked materials, and

Some goods movements cannot be posted until the lock is manually released.

SAP recommended following the guidance from Note 1985306 – Performance Guide for Goods Movements. However, when I attempted to enable the Late Lock of Material, the system displayed a message indicating that this option is not possible because the Statistical Information System (SIL/LIS) is active.

I would like to know if any of you have experienced the same issue and how you managed to solve it.
Our system is SAP S/4HANA 2023, so I would really appreciate your insights or best-practice recommendations regarding this situation.
