Greetings experts
I require some insight as to what is the purpose of each type of master data, single and compound. If there is documentation available forward the link. I have observed that with every update, there are more master data types and knowing the purpose of it will be really helpful in knowing which master data types are essential for a system to operate and which the system can do without.
This question was sparked by not being able to differentiate between the Demand Stream and Customer Source master data type - any insight to this will be appreciated.
I hope I am making sense as I am pretty confused right now.
Regards,
Mohammad

Hello Mohammad,
Please check our Model Configuration Guide - Master Data Types for more information about the different types of Master Data.
For more details about Demand Stream (know as MDT Source Customer Group), in terms of the Inventory application, please check the SAP Help Portal Master Data Types. For the MDT Customer Source, in terms of Time-Series Supply Planning, you may check the Help Portal Customer Source of Supply.
Best regards,
Matheus
