Mass changes to purchasing contracts, delete price condition possible?

Dear experts,

We are on S/4 2023 and we are using the Mass changes to purchasing contracts app to update prices via the Excel download / upload.  It works well, but one thing is not working which is deletion of a Price condition. I expect this to work, because the deletion indicator column is present in the Excel template and it's also possible to delete them as well manually using the Manage Purchasing contracts app.

This is an example:

  • This item has 2 condition records.
  • I have put a deletion indicator on the second one (the other 2 tabs of the Excel I kept as is):

When uploading the Excel, this is the result:

So for some reason, this is not seen as a change. Does anyone has an idea why this could be? Am I doing something wrong or is this just not possible?

Thanks in advance!

The Excel template includes a Deletion Indicator column, but this is not yet enabled for processing in the backend logic of the mass change app. SAP documentation Mass Changes to Purchase Contracts  confirms that "Using the offline mode, you can create, update, and delete multiple purchase contracts and purchase contract items in one go using Microsoft Excel". However, the deletion capability applies to contracts/items, not to individual condition records. When you mark a condition for deletion in Excel, the system does not recognize it as a change because the condition group ID and validity remain intact, so the upload logic treats it as “no change".

So you have the below options

Use the Manage Purchasing Contracts Fiori app to delete the condition record directly. This is the only supported way right now.

Instead of deleting, you can set the condition value to 0 or adjust validity dates to effectively deactivate the condition. This ensures the condition is no longer applied, even though it remains in the contract.

Thanks! I checked the documentation but couldn't see this information. A bit strange they still have the columns in there then, I wonder if this would be added with a future update.

This app seems to be in development still, there are also key fields missing, for example planned delivery time, which is quite important in a purchase contract.  We cannot really use the app for creation of contracts now, since the empty value overrules the value from the material master / info record making the MRP calculate with 0 days..
