Managing Vehicles in SAP Asset Management and SAP SSAM

Dear Colleagues,

I am currently working on a requirement related to vehicle management within SAP S/4HANA Asset Management and SAP Service and Asset Manager (SSAM).

Could you please advise if there are any standard capabilities available for managing vehicles that can be leveraged by technicians in both SAP Asset Management and SSAM?

Regarding SSAM specifically, I reviewed the Features and Personas Configuration Matrix but could not find any relevant features : https://help.sap.com/docs/service-asset-manager/sap-service-and-asset-manager-configuration-guide/fe...

Have you encountered this requirement in previous projects?

It includes some additional functionalioties such as automatic fuel consumtion etc.

But overall vehicles are no different than any other equipment. You need to define which EAM processes are relevant for this type of technical object and explore the possibilities in scope of standard EAM functionalities (preventive, corrective, reactive, ...).

You would want to separate these objects by special equipment type, store additional data in a class and classify the individual equipment and you probably also want to have counters to track kilometers and trigger preventive maintenance based on that.

Have you investigated the Crew Management functionality as that also helps you manage vehicles: Crew Management Overview
