Manage Situation Types for EWM inventory document on S/4H Cloud Public Edition

Hi everyone,

I have a question about how to manage situations while processing physical inventory in SAP EWM Cloud Public Edition.

The objective here is to send a notification to the user when an inventory document is created and counted so he can confirm the counted quantities. It works very fine when using IM storage location (scope item BML). In the scope item BML, the system suggests to use situation type "ZMAN_PHYSICAL_INVENTORY_MONITOR" (tile : Manage Situation Types) where we can write the message to send when for example the inventory document is counted (we can define other criteria). We can run a background job or trigger it manually to send the notification.

Now for the scope item 3BX, where we use inventory document for EWM storage location. The situation type doesn't send any message or notification even if we put the EWM storage location in customized criteria in situation type.

Anyone has already seen this issue or can suggest me how to send a notification after a certain situation (in inventory process) in EWM on a S/4H Cloud Public Edition System ?

Thanks,

Anas.

Hi amounsif,

Standard template Physical Inventory Monitoring only works for standard IM. EWM physical inventory documents are not supported.

If the use case you're looking for is not available in standard, you can explore the extended framework of Situation Handling to create custom situations. See more information about the extended framework in the SAP Help Portal.

Kind regards,
Ana

Hi Ana,

Thank you for your reply.

In my use case, which situation scenario should I use while creating a custom situation type ?

If it's not possible to find the relevant situation scenario for my use case and neither to create a new one. What would be the workaround ?

Thanks again,

Anas.

Hi amounsif,

We don't have any predelivered scenarios for this use case. You would need to model the use case from scratch, starting with the creation of the situation object.

You can learn more the new features available with the extended framework in this blog post series. Additionally, this blog post provides further guidance on how to get started with your own Situation Handling use case in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, using an example in Professional Services.

Kind regards,
Ana
