I had this error only in earlier releases, or when I make an error in my config: In some cases it can happen that you can activate the planning area. But one of your key figures still has an issue that might not be caught and the error only comes when you load the one KF, typically a calculated one.
It became rare because the checks become better
What I can recommend: What was the last change you did before you became the error? If you know you had added a KF, restart your excel and load something without the KF to check if all is ok. Than add the one KF to verify that you can reproduce the error.
Than try to find the reason why it aborts. Sometimes it helps if you make a copy of the planning area and check if you can still activate it, e.g. in case you did the check some time ago but you had a release upgrade afterwards.
Maybe by that you find the faulty KF
If that does not help, raise an OSS message with sharing the exact file you loaded

Hi Ivan,
thanks. But can you help me maybe with the fact that I miss this particular add-on in Excel called FPXMLClient.TechnicalCategory? I used to have it before but now it's gone. When searching online, most posts are related to EPM Add-On which I did not have before and did not really need. The IBP Add-On was installed on a stand-alone basis.
Best,
Thao

Hi Thao,
I am afraid this error message is very generic to provide you exact root cause here. As Irmhild pointed out, in case you are not able to figure it out in your PA config, please raise an incident on SCM-IBP-XLS-SRV component for further troubleshooting.
Best,
Ivan

Hi Irmhild Kuntze,
unfortunately this is the answer to my question... I do not have any issues with planning area to active or KF configuration itself. I cannot login to IBP via MS Excel. Thanks still for taking the time to provide an answer.
Best, Thao
