Lowering the SFC quantity In SAP DM

I need to lower the sfc or build quantity, the desired result is the user presses a button on the pod, this changes sfc/build quantity to match the done qty, when the done quantity is hit on this or the next operation. A final confirmation of CNF is received in the ERP and the order is moved out of the pod. This is on a production order in a discrete environment.  

I was able to do this in MII by lowering the build quantity but can't find an api in DM to do this.

check the https://api.sap.com/api/sapdme_sfc/path/post_sfcs_setQuantity API to reset the SFC quantity. decreased quantity will be available in order to release.

I've tried this as its the similar solution to raising the sfc quantity but get this error, "Quantity in queue is too low at selected step"

This has worked even though set SFC quantity isn't support for relaxed workflows for raising the Quantity, what other api's do you recommend as I'm facing an issue reducing the SFC quantity
