Location type determination for a Plant in SAP TM

Hello TM experts

I would like to understand from where does SAP differentiates for location type of a plant.

How does SAP determines if a plant is production plant or distribution center?

Hi Aslam,

table T001W has field NODETYPE.

If this field is maintained for a plant, e.g. in a retail system, TM will use the information to determine the location type in /SAPAPO/CL_LOC_PROCESS=>READ_ADDRNO_LOCTYPE_4_PLANT.

This is true for TM in SAP S/4HANA. I believe something similar might exist in TM 9.x, but I cannot verify at the moment.

I am on S4 HANA 2020, but I could not find above method.

But I see a similar method to determine location type of the plant.

Anyways, This class explains many things, so thanks a lot for your answer.
