Local connection folder in IBP

in the addin of ibp, at connections manager there is a Local Connection Folder. is it possible to have the addin fill the connection file in a folder in the "local connection folder"?

if so, what are the features and configurations required for this?

That options comes from the EPM Add-in, that is used as base by the IBP development team to build the IBP add-in itself:

I don't think that this option can be useful in any way for users that just use IBP, and don't have EPM add-in installed as well.

In additional to what Ivan already pointed out, I just have to add that the Local Connections are not supported in the IBP environment.
