Launch Material Consumption dialog from custom POD plugin

Hello,

I'm working on a custom POD plugin in SAP DM that reads values from a pH meter. I have a need to launch the standard Material Consumption plugin in a dialog box from within my custom plugin, showing a list of materials associated with the current phase and allowing consumption of said materials. 

I know that we can launch POD plugins from a production process, but am not familiar with how to launch a plugin directly from my custom plugin. Is this possible? Can anyone point me to some documentation or an example of how to do this?
