Item Family for non-stock SKU

Hello,

I want to include a non-active item on a sales quotation - when setting up this item I get a prompt for "Item Family is Required" in the Master Item. Cannot seem to find?

What does Item Family refer to so I can add this non-active non-SKU'd item onto a sales quotation?

If the item is purchased we will provide it with a new internal SKU for the New Sales Order.
