Issues while Partially Merging Planning areas SAPIBP1 and SAP9 (MRO)

Hello,

I am using SAP9 Planning area for MRO Inventory Optimization which having new 'MRO Inventory Profile' for Inventory Run. I also need old Inventory Planning profile for some of the products and hence I was trying to Partially merge Inventory related configuration from SAPIBP1 to SAP9.

Issue is: The new SAP9 MRO planning area doesn't have the 'Day' Time Profile level and SAPIBP1 or SAP3 has 'Day' Time profile level. And hence it is not allowing to partial Merge the Planning areas.(As the prerequisite to merge the planning areas is Time Profile levels should be same of both Planning areas.)

Hence, my requirement is now to match the both Time Profile levels. (Add Day level in SAP9 Planning area's Time profile.) When I copied current SAP9's Time profile and tried to create new time profile with adding New 'Day' time profile' level, and assigned that time profile (With Day level) to SAP9, now SAP9 is not getting activated with the different errors.

Please suggest me how can I merge these two planning areas OR How can I add Day time profile level in SAP9s Time profile OR How can I merge old Inventory operator in SAP9.

Please try the following. As you correctly said you cant merge SAP9 with SAPIBP1.

1) Run a PA comparison using the comparison option in the planning area.

2) This will show you the difference in KFs and PLs between SAP9 with SAPIBP1. Check the KFs and the dependent PL that exists in SAP9 and need to be copied to SAPIBP1.

3) Use the merge option in the comparison app and select from SAP9 to SAPIBP1 and push those KFS and PLs from SAP9 to SAPIBP1.

4) You can automatically push the profiles, hence check if you have the option to create the MRO specific inevntory profile manually in SAPIBP1.

Please do let me know if you get stuck somewhere as I havent used SAP9 PA before
