Hello,
I have one queue which I use for the inventory. I then created 5 inventory documents with the following bins:
W1R1-02-03-03-3 1.
W1R1-02-03-02-3 2.
W1R1-02-04-02-1 3.
W1R1-02-04-03-3 4.
W1R1-02-04-02-2 5.
On the right side you can see in what order they were created & chosen by the queue when I let the queue decide in RFUI. I started at W1R1-02-03-03-3. The problem is: it is not in the "right" order. From my understanding a queue should always choose the best bin according to the position. Which means once I was at the 3rd bin it should have chosen the last one before the second last one as it was closer to me as a ressource.
So the correct order would be:
W1R1-02-03-03-3 1.
W1R1-02-03-02-3 2.
W1R1-02-04-02-1 3.
W1R1-02-04-02-2 4.
W1R1-02-04-03-3 5.
What am I missing or is configured wrong? Thanks for your help.

Hi,
"From my understanding a queue should always choose the best bin according to the position."
as understandable as the assumption is... where does this understanding come from? 😉
So the first list is how you created the PI documents? And that is the same sequence the system gave you the PI documents to work in RF. Yeah, I would say that is how it works (but as always, I might be wrong).
The assignment of the warehouse inside a queue works like described here: https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/9832125c23154a179bfa1784cdc9577a/82cccb53ad377114e10...
First the WOs are sorted by latest starting date, then by execution priority. The standard (AFAIK) does not do anything with distance - with the exception of Task Interleaving, and also there it is the last thing the system looks at. And that of course assumes that you have geo coordinates maintained (did you do that?).
Now for PI documents I believe the latest start date is the same, so then I would expect that they are just sorted by WO number.
"Please check what sorting rules you have maintained and how system is sorting the document."
Sorting rules are not relevant here, as Jan describes that there are separate documents.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!
And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!
