Hi Basha,

What it is saying that the HU numbers should be unique in different warehouses. Same HU number ranges can't be use if exchaning HUs between warehouses.

Hi Shamsul,

Thank you very much for the reply. Then how should I maintain external number range if I want to exchange HU's.

For example warehouse 1000 has HU 1234 then this HU I am sending to another warehouse assigned to another plant using STO then how should I configure number range.

Regards,

Chand Basha.

Hi Basha,

Shamsul is correct. HUs are set up in warehouse1 with the ILN say range 1000-2000 and warehouse2 would have 2001-3000. The ILN for warehouse2 is not set for warehouse1 it just means if warehouse1 creates an HU it will be set as a number between 1000 and 2000. Think about inbound HU's from external vendors, you would not necessarily know what their range is this is where adhering to standard such as GS1 will ensure that your external partner does not cross over with your range.

Hope this helps,

Craig

Following 2 answers, since the HU will flow from EWM to ECC and ECC to EWM, each time HU sending from ECC will consider external number range. Thus when you set number range 1000-2000 as internal number range for WHS 1, and when it is sending to WHS 2. In WHS2, you need to set same number range 1000-2000 as external number range, and set another number range as internal number range in WHS 2.
