Within the Excel interface, is there any way to change the format of time is displayed within a template? I know I could edit the PERIODDESC , but this time profile is shared between multiple planning areas and I cannot make an edit at that level.

So I am being asked if rather than the current display in the template of 01/01/2020 - is there any way of making it display as W01 2020 within a template. I have not been able to find anything in EPM formatting.

Thanks,

dan

Hello Dan,

Yes. This is possible through the template. Please follow the following steps in your Excel Add-In:

Go to About > Settings > Options > Member Names >

  • Under Member Selection, Choose your Time Period (Day, Week, Month etc)
  • Once you make a selection, it will display a list of all available time periods (ex: 01/01/2020)
  • Click on that and enter your desired description for this period in the box "New name for member" and then click "Override".
  • Now you will see a new description for your time period on the right hand side (Changed Member Names) in the same screen.

Please keep in mind that this needs to be repeated for ALL the Time periods. This can also be used for Attributes & key figures.

Thanks,

Thank you - this gives me a path for the user. It may require administration on their part - but it works well.

Hi,

you could add another attribute to the TP and there have a different description. On the planning view you would then select that attribute and add in via the layout tab to the row axis.

Best regards

I did think about adding an extra attribute, but because the Time Profile is shared between multiple Planning Areas and business groups - I would never get approval to adjust the TP.

Even though it wouldn't work in my situation - thank you for the suggestion
