Hello,
I start with shelf life planning in IBP. But I have some questions.
1.) KF "REM SHELF LIFE BATCH PROD"
It is not clear for me, why I need this keyfigure. I have a expire Date, I have a manufacturing date .With this two kf, for my understanding, the system have automatically calculate the "Rem Shelf Life Batch Prod". for that adoption, it is not necessary, to fill manuall this key figure. But I have it to do ? For that reason the meaning of this key figure is not clear for me.
Furthermore, is the period for this in weeks or days ?
2 KF "Pegging QTY- L Output"
I have a consensous demand. I have a initial batch qty, but the kf "Pegging QTY - L Output" is empty.
How is this key figure working ?
3.) in principle it is not clear how this calculation (shelf life) is working.
Follow parameter i have in our system
manufacturing date : 2018-08-01
Expire Date: 2018-10-01
Consensous Demand : 17901 (every week)
Initial batch QTY : 500.000
Initial Remaining shelf life : 8
Mini Req. Shelf Life (Customer-Produkt) : 1
I start in week 31 and the wastage qty is in week 32. This is for my understand not correct
I hope. someone,can help.
Regards
Oliver
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Oliver,
It seem you have not maintained remaining shelf life per batch product due to which batch quantity is not consumed.
1) REMSHELFLIFE is an input key figure where you should enter values decreasing period by period starting from Initial shelf life. This key figure should be maintained across all time buckets till it reached zero.
2) Pegging QTY- L Output is the quantity pegged across customer demand per product per batch.
Please check more details in this help link
Thanks,
Rohit

Hi Rohit,
thanks for your comments. With this, I was able to build a szenario.
But I have further question to the kf REMSHELLIFE.
a) if it is necessary to maintain this kf manually, why I need "EXPIRY DATE" and "MANUFACTURING DATE" in the Master Data Workbook (batch-product)
b) What is the szenario to maintain this kf. If the planner have to maintain this kf manually for every batch product, the planer has every day to fill up this kf for every batch product production. And I believe that in the consumer area a lot of batch products will be 🙂

Oliver

Hi Oliver
I know this is an old post but can you please elaborate how to maintain Batch remaining shelf life without manual maintenance? Any logic within IBP to achieve this?
Hi Rohit,
thanks for the response. But your answer is not clear for me.
What do you mean with "...ave not maintained remaining shelf life per batch product..." ?
Why have I maintained the kf REMSHELFLIFE ? i have the manufactured day and Expire Date. Which values have to insert in this REMSHELFLIFE kf ? Why maintaines the system this not automatically ?
Pegging QTY ? why is it empty in my planning view ? I have a deamnd and a initial Batch? what I have to do, that this kf will be used ?
I hope, you can answer my question.
Thanks and regards
Oliver

Hi Oliver,
REMSHELFLIFE is not an output to be calculated by system. It is entered in current bucket based on manufacturing and expiring date. For other buckets it should be entered in decreasing order as mentioned in help document(see in the example section where value is maintained as Integer to represent number of buckets).

Based on these inputs, L-code calculates the pegged quantity.
Thanks,
Rohit
